Musical Theatre Workshop Week 2010 Feedback
Adam Wilkinson tells us what he thought of this year's Musical Theatre Workshop Week:
What has been your favourite thing about Workshop Week?The atmosphere of it all. That and being able to accomplish such an awesome showcase in just 5 days!
What would you like to have done more of at Workshop Week?
Acting really. Although in the end I learnt how to have more confidence in the singing and dancing side of things, as well as how to act within them as well, so it all worked out great.
What did you think of the theatre itself?
The complexity of all the gimmicks in the backstage tour was fascinating, and the rest of it all was awesome (especially the massive Freddie statue outside). Maybe too many stairs?
What did you think of We Will Rock You?
Mind = blown. Still. (I think I was one of the only ones that hadn’t seen it before)
Would you like to take part in future Workshop Week style events such as one day workshops and future week long courses?
Absolutely
What did you think of the way the groups were split?
I liked that although we were split in accordance to preference we still got to take part in everything else and so didn’t miss out
Did you feel challenged and inspired by your time at Workshop Week?
Definitely. It’s opened my eyes to how much I’d enjoy a career and future in acting and singing, but also to how competitive and demanding it all is, which almost serves as stimulation to try!
Was Workshop Week different from what you expected?
I guess in a way. I wasn’t quite expecting the level of talent (both in terms of other group members and that of the leaders) and I wasn’t expecting the end result to be as professional as it was. In short I was seriously impressed by all.
Would you recommend Workshop Week to your friends?
Certainly, but maybe only to those that would actually appreciate just how useful (and how much fun) it is.
Do you think that the overall experience and everything that was included in Workshop Week justified the fee?
Worth every penny.
Do you have any suggestions for improvements to Workshop Week?
I really liked the sound of the 18-21 year olds one for next year?
